Medieval Romantique Reveries, Featuring: Josiane Meimaris
Born in Paris, artist Josiane Meimaris has lived and worked all over the world. Her style, which has been eloquently described as Medieval Romantique, is strongly influenced by her time spent in Italy.
Meimaris feels there is an element of "mystic religion" to her technique; she successfully reveals the beauty, sensitivity, femininity and love in her works.
"Many people tell me they are seduced by the originality of the paintings", Meimaris states. The beach, the sun and precious solitude give Josiane the inspiration to bring her canvasses to life.
She effectively uses color to elicit the emotions she seeks to stir in those who view her creations; colors that at times suggest peace and tranquility, and others when they convey passion and exhilaration.
Meimaris' work combines both figurative and abstract elements which come together in a confluence of vibrant creativity.
Josiane likes to say her creations take us into her own dreams; it is an enjoyable journey!
